In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to DailyFoxglove, which acts as the data controller responsible for the personal information described here. We collect information you give us directly when you make a booking, join a waiting list, or contact us with a question. This typically includes your name, email address, telephone number, the walk and date you select, and any accessibility or dietary notes you choose to share so we can plan the day well. When you use this website, we also receive limited technical information automatically, such as your browser type, device, and the pages you view, gathered through cookies and similar technologies described in our Cookie Policy.

We use your information to confirm and manage your booking, to communicate changes caused by weather or trail conditions, to answer your enquiries, and to improve the routes and services we offer. Where you have given consent, we may send occasional notes about upcoming seasonal walks. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

We process your information where it is necessary to perform our contract with you, such as fulfilling a booking; where we have a legitimate interest, such as keeping our services safe and improving them; where you have given consent, such as for marketing messages; and where we must comply with a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, such as payment processors, booking software, and email delivery services, and only to the extent needed to perform their function. These providers are bound by contract to protect your information and to use it solely on our instructions. We keep booking records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our accounting and legal obligations, typically for several years after your last walk with us. Enquiry correspondence is kept for a shorter period unless it becomes part of a booking. Marketing preferences are kept until you ask us to stop contacting you. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to personal information within DailyFoxglove is limited to those who need it to do their work. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we work to maintain protections proportionate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, request deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of information you provided in a portable format. Our walks welcome families, but bookings are made by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

Because DailyFoxglove is based in Tokyo, we handle personal information in line with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). In practice this means we tell you why we collect each piece of information, use it only for those purposes — arranging your walk, sending the bloom alerts you signed up for, and answering your questions — and do not pass it to anyone else without your consent unless the law requires it.
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, or to stop using or delete it. Send the request by post to 28-12 Sakaecho, Kita-ku, Tokyo 114-0005 or call 03-3911-0338, tell us which booking or alert list it relates to, and we will confirm your identity and reply within two weeks. Unsubscribing from seasonal alerts takes effect immediately and does not affect any walk you have already booked.

When we make material changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
